  • $1,150,000 settlement for a steel worker who sustained serious injuries in a fall when an industrial tank collapsed.

Commercial Litigation Verdicts and Settlements

  • $1,100,000 settlement in a breach of fiduciary duties lawsuit against an attorney/succession administrator.
  • Dismissal of a distributorship lawsuit seeking over $3,400,000 for alleged breach of a distributorship contract by a manufacturer.
  • $120,000 arbitration award against a mobile home manufacturer based on the defective manufacture of a mobile home destroyed by fire. Note : An additional $130,000 was recovered from the insurer of the mobile home and the manufacturer's claim for a reduction based on this payment was defeated.
  • $235,000 settlement for a local automobile dealership against a national bank for the improper payment of forged checks.
  • Defense judgment affirmed on appeal in a lawsuit alleging breach of contract to purchase a commercial hanger.

Class Action, Mass Torts, Toxic Torts News

  • Dismissal for a client named as a defendant in a consumer class action filed against several telecommunications companies in the U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York. Prior to dismissal, the case was transferred by the U.S. Judicial Panel for Multidistrict Litigation to the U.S District Court, District of Columbia along with three related class actions. In Re: Long-Distance Service Federal Excise Tax Refund Litigation, MDL No. 1798, U.S. District Court, District of Columbia.
  • Dismissal of a certified state class action filed against an insurer arising out of the issuance of burial insurance policies.
  • Obtained voluntary withdrawal of a threatened shareholder derivative class action in California seeking $8,900,000.
  • Currently lead defense counsel in certified state class action alleging constitutional rights violations.
  • Confidential settlement for 400 local residents in mass tort action and citizen suit alleging environmental violations caused by paper mill.
  • Represented objectors in conditionally certified national class settlement action against insurer for underpayment of claims.
  • Currently defense counsel in mass toxic tort action (Legacy litigation) against multiple oil field operators.

Criminal Law

  • Not guilty verdict on all counts for a former police union representative indicted by federal grand jury on multiple counts of conspiracy and making false statements to an FBI agent.

Professional Liability

  • Obtained dismissal for realtor in errors and omissions claim alleging fraud and negligent misrepresentation.
  • Obtained reinstatement of realtor's license suspended for alleged failure to comply with regulations of the Louisiana Real Estate Commission.
  • Obtained dismissal for hospital sued for medical negligence.
  • Defense verdict for pesticide applicator in lawsuit claiming personal injuries from termite treatment of apartment complex.
